Habanero's Red Chris Prospect is located in the Tahltan traditional territory of northwest British Columbia, near Imperial Metals (III-TSX) Red Chris Gold/Copper property.
The planned open pit at Imperial Metals (III) nearby Red Chris property is approximately 1.8 km long and up to 1,000 m wide with two main zones; the East and the Main. Drilling indicates the deposit is still open for expansion both laterally and vertically, and the adjacent Gully and Far West are two of the exploration targets which may also host significant near-surface copper/gold mineralization. Imperial Metals exploration expenditures in 2008 were $1.5 million. Total 2008 exploration expenditures including completion of the access road totaled $5.1 million.
